With a population of about 70,000, Asheville lies tucked between the ranges of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Vibrant and wholly unique, the city has an energy all its own, offering visitors a blend of art and nature, culture and mountain flavor.
Asheville’s downtown is located only five minutes from the Grove Park Inn. With its colorful sights and historic buildings — the city features more Art Deco architecture than any other southeastern city outside Miami Beach — the downtown is best explored on foot, its streets lined with an inviting collection of restaurants, bookstores and shops.
Away from downtown, adventure abounds. From music festivals to hikes to scenic peaks, from whitewater rafting to gallery strolls, there is something here for just about everybody.
The resort is located at an elevation of 2,100 feet above sea level. With an average high of 67 degrees Fahrenheit and an average low of 46 degrees Fahrenheit , Asheville offers a mild climate in every season. Buffered by the surrounding mountains, the area also has less precipitation than any other city east of the Mississippi.
